William Delbert McFarland died at his home early monday morning and funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon. Mr. McFarland had been in Ill health for a number of years. His condition became critical about a week ago. He was born at Cross Timbers Mo. Dec 7, 1885 the son of William Franklin and Elvira Barcus, McFarland. On June 11, 1906 he married Miss Bertha Alice Osborne. Six children were born to them and who with their mother survive. The children are James McFarland of Baton Rouge La., Edna (George)Terry and Mrs. Charlene (Leonard)Carter of Sanfrancisco, Ca. Mrs. Evelyn (Carl)Roberts of Mission, Kansas.,Charles and Keith McFarland of Sweetsprings Mo., and one older brother Mr. Charles Benjamin McFarland of Fristoe, Mo., Mr. McFarland became a member of the Hughesville Baptist church where he resided at the time.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist church were the Pastor A. C. McLure was officiating. Mrs Hugh Hill and Mrs.Lenox Crockett sang "Beyound the Sunset, God Will Take care of you and Under his Wing", Mrs William Volgesmeire play the piano accompaniment. Flowers were arranged by Mrs.Micheal Duffy and Mrs. Ray Looney, Mrs. Ray Wallhasuen, Mrs. Carl Shay, Mrs. Harold Green and Miss Marilyn Hall. Pall Bearers were;Henry Kroeneke,Howard Reevis, Harold Green,Ray Wallhasuen,LyLe Green and Russell Thomas.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
