Mrs. Ayres Dies of Heart Disease

Funeral Held Monday at Church of Christ

Death of Mrs. Rosa Bell Ayres, Sunday evening at 8:15 o'clock, brought to an end the life of one of the most beloved elderly ladies of Madill. Mrs. Ayres died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ollie L. Beard, after suffering several days with heart disease.

Mrs. Ayres was in perfectly good health several days ago when she went to visit her sister, Mrs. R.M. Noe, of Denison, Texas. However, a few days after she arrived she became ill and was brought back to the home of Mrs. Beard in Madill last Wednesday, where she lingered until Sunday evening.

Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Madill Monday afternoon with Rev. J.W. Webb of Mannsville, and Rev. W.H. White of Dallas, Texas both of whom are former pastors of the Church of Christ of Madill, officiating. Interment was made in the Woodville cemetery. Watts Funeral Home of Madill had charge of the funeral.

Mrs. Rosa Belle Ayres was born in Grayson County, Texas, on October 3, 1860. Had Mrs. Ayres lived until October 3, 1930, she would have been 70 years of age. She was married to William A. Ayres in 1879. To this union were born six children, as follows: Clarence White Ayres, deceased; Monroe U. Ayres, Woodville; Earl E. Ayres, Madill; W. Ernest Ayres, Earlsboro; Mrs. Ollie L. Beard, Madill; Mrs. S.N. Luttrell, Madill. She is also survived by three step-daughters as follows: Mrs. Paralee Allred, Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Dud Henry, Woodville, and Mrs. Jno. H. Woods, Woodville. Mr. Ayres died about seven years ago. Mrs. Ayres had made her home with her children since the death of her husband. All of her children were present at the funeral.

Mrs. Ayres had been a member of the Church of Christ for fifty-six years.

The pall bearers of the funeral consisted of sons and sons-in-law of Mrs. Ayres, and the flower girls consisted of grand daughters and nieces.

Noe, Denison, Texas; Mrs. Burr Wright and daughter, Miss Evelyn Wright, both of Denison, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. John Murray, Pampa, Texas; Miss Cliff Goff, Sherman, Texas; Mrs. H.M. Bowen, Denison, Texas; Edd Cross, Whitesboro, Texas; Mrs. Paul Southerland, Frank Wright, Bonham, Texas; and Leon Alton and Evelyn Allred, all of Dallas, Texas.

Friends from out of town included Mr. and Mrs. Whiting, Denison, Texas; Mrs. Marie Looney and son, Dallas, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. James Luttrell, Ardmore; Mr. and Mrs. Julian Morrison, Grandview, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Draper, Tishomingo; Mrs. Augusta Evans, Tishomingo; Mr. and Mrs. Basil Shillings, and a host of friends from Woodville, Kingston and other surrounding communities.
