TEMPE, ARIZ -- Doris Lundy, 94, of Tempe, Arizona, died on Friday, November 6, 1998, at the Friendship Village in Tempe. Burial in the Union Cemetery. Memorial services at Biersborn Funeral Home in Union, Rev. Philip King officiating. Memorials may be directed to Quakerdale.

Doris Corrine Shafer was born on August 29, 1904, the daughter of Ed and Bertha (Van Scoyoc) Shafer in Wagner, Oklahoma, formerly called Indian Creek Land. Her parents moved to Idaho when she was a child.

She married Edward W. Lundy, in Salt Lake City Utah, on August 10, 1926. They were ranchers in Corral, Idaho, and moved to Union, Iowa, in 1943 and farmed there. Doris moved to Friendship Village in Tempe in 1980.

While living in Union, Mrs. Lundy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Farm Bureau, Union Community Church, and a 4-H leader.

Surviving are a son John "Jack" Lundy of Marshalltown; a grandson, Mark E. Lundy of Marshalltown; and a great-granddaughter, Alexandria.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1960, and two grandson, William and James.
