Mrs Mollie Richey was born in Panola County Texas in 1879, the daughter of James W. Appleton and Jane Richardson. Her family moved to Collins County when she was very young. In 1895 she married the late J. P. Richey who passed away on Nov 17, 1943. They moved to Omaha, Texas. She joined the Church of Christ in her young womanhood and lived a fruitful and useful life.

They raised their family in Morris County with the exception of 6 years that was spent in Hopkins County. She moved to Dallas 4 years ago when her health began to fail to make her home with her daughters: Mrs and Mrs Alvin Hampton and Mrs and Mrs L R Atwood. She died July 12 at the home of Mr and Mrs Hampton. She had been a semi-invalid for the past three years of her life.

She is survived by two sons, Bill and Joe Richey of Omaha, three daughters: Mrs Ida Gray of Omaha, Mrs Sibyl Atwood and Mrs. Floriene Hampton of Dallas; one sister Mrs Bernice Clemens of Palm Springs, CA. There were 16 grand-children and 16 great-grandchildren.
