Mrs. Dorcas "Dot" Helen Sigmon Caskey, age 86 of the Brian Center, and formerly of 409 Daniels Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Ingle and Rev. Dr. Dixon Free officiating. Burial will follow in the Southside Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Caskey was born May 13, 1924 in Catawba County to the Calvin P. and Fannie U. Skidmore Sigmon.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thurman Caskey.
Mrs. Caskey worked as a receptionist at Crowell Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry S. Caskey of Katy, TX and Terry "Mickey" Caskey of Newton; four daughters, Victoria Goforth of Henrico, NC, Jane Noles of Lincolnton, Susan Elmore of Lincolnton, and Jennifer Lopez of Gastonia; one brother, Patrick Sigmon of Charlotte; one sister, Virginia Morris of Sherrills Ford; thirteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
