Karen Jean Parks, 50 of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away June 18, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Karen was born April 15, 1960 to Charles and Betty (Marcum) Cox at Hominy, Oklahoma. She was a life-long Hominy resident. Karen attended Hominy Public Schools and NOC at Tonkawa and OSU in Stillwater. Karen and John Parks were married April 24, 1982 in Hominy. Karen was a homemaker and a member of Hominy First Baptist Church.

Karen is survived by her husband- John Parks of the home; two sons- John Leon Parks II of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Joel Clayton Parks of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister- Kathy Sparling of Seattle, Washington- her mother Betty Helm of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandmother- Nell Cox Tilley of Claremore, Oklahoma; mother and
father in law- John L. and Betty Joyce Parks of Hominy; aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents- Mr. & Mrs. Emmit Marcum; her father- Charles Cox and stepfather- Robert Dean Helm.

Funeral services were Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hominy First Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Formby and Jim Johnson officiating. Music selections were "Amazing Grace" and "In a Little While", vocalist was Karen Crawford. Casket Bearers were Brandon Brown, Tom Coon, Christian Drummond, Ronnie Underwood, Greg Billen and Rusty Miller.

Interment was in the A.J. Powell Cemetery with Powell Funeral Home making the arrangements.
