Bessie M. Clark, 92, died January 29, 2010, at the Newton Medical Center. She was born on November 16, 1917 in Milo, Kansas to Herman and Anna (Rittel) Moegling.
She married T.A. (Bud) Clark on May 5, 1942 in Seneca, Kansas. He died on March 26, 1988.
Bessie previously held a membership with the First Presbyterian Church in Dalhart, Texas. They lived in Dalhart until 1942 and then moved to Newton in 1962. She had a great collection of dolls. Before her husbands death, they enjoyed camping and fishing. Bessie enjoyed her family and especially the grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor that will be missed.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Decker and her husband Earl, Newton; brother, Fred Moegling, El Paso, TX; sister, Mildred Tyler, Topeka; 3 grandsons, Brendan Decker and wife Mickie, Douglass, KS , Jarrod Decker, Newton and Aaron Harrod and Shannon of Goddard, KS ;3 great-grandchildren, Brett, Chance and Katelynn Harrod; 2 nieces, Terri Tyler and Meredith Lyons and a nephew, Dale M. Moegling.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Sandra Harrod; grandson, Troy Yoke and sister Alice Resch.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 1, 2010 at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 2, at 10:00 A.M. with Chaplain Janine Arnold presiding, at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Burial will be held at Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the Newton Relay for Life or First United Methodist Church.
