After living a life of integrity, love, and Christian service, Jim Bob made a peaceful transition into spirit Feb. 13, 2004 in Tacoma, Washington, after succumbing to congestive heart failure. By his side was his wife of 60 years, Ann Marie. He was also surrounded by the love of his daughters, Diane Gerritz (Robert), Karen Tewault (Merlin) and adored grandchild, Shannen Noark Smith (Brian). Born Dec. 14, 1925 in Missouri, he graduated from Spring High School and served in the Navy Air Corp during WWII. He was a deacon and bible teacher in the baptist church. As a respected Master Plumber, he owned Balloun Plumbing Co. in Houston for 40 years, before retiring to the lake in Trinity. The past 8 years were spent near his daughters in Washington State. He will be missed by family, friends, Forty Two Club, sisters, Helen Moring, Mary Joe Janac (Harry), Carol Allen (David), brother, Ralph Balloun (Yvonne), and sister-in-law, Linda Balloun. His parents, John and Florence and brother, Bill Balloun welcome his arrival in heaven.

Services celebrating his life were on Sunday, February 22, 2004, at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home.
