Funeral services for John Allan Green, 86, of Albuquerque, N.M., will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Peacock Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Gary and Claire Zilm officiating.Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.Mr. Green died Nov. 21, 2000, at Albuquerque.He was born July 16, 1914, in Buffalo, Minn., to Fred and Myrtle D. Green.He attended schools in Rocky Ford and played basketball and graduated from Rocky Ford High School. He worked for Citizens Utilities at Rocky Ford, then as a locomotive engineer for the Santa Fe Railway at La Junta, retiring from the railroad to Albuquerque. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and an accomplished fisherman. He loved music.Survivors include his wife Inez (Karney) Green of Albuquerque; step-children Mr. and Mrs. Bill Haberman of La Junta, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Haberman of Elizabeth and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence (Kay) Richards of Las Vegas, N.M.; sister Betty Laubhan of Colorado Springs; brother Bill Green of Auburn, Calif.; and step-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by wives Edith Drennon and Lucille Abell Haberman Green, son Robert Eugene Green and sister Margaret Bird von Bernuth.Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Valley Community Center (Girch Center), P.O. Box 1130, La Junta CO 81050, either directly or through the funeral home.
