Arthur M. Sharpe Of Bedford formerly of Waltham, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 6th, 2011 in his home at the age of 63.

Born in Waltham on July 7, 1947, beloved son of Arthur F Sharpe and Mary A (Cassidy) Sharpe, Arthur grew up on Newton Street in Waltham; attended St. Charles and Waltham High Schools and lived in Waltham for many years before moving to Bedford.

Arthur served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was employed for many years with E.M. Snow Construction in Waltham and was Director of Maintenance at the Massachusetts Correctional Institute Cedar Junction in Walpole.

A friend of Bill, he helped many others struggle through their personal addictions. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing in Maine with his friend Jim Hovsepian, listening to talk radio and classical music, and reading books.

He is survived by his loving daughter who stood beside him no matter what, Dina (Mummolo-Sharpe) Warchal and her husband Dennis of Norton, his dear siblings Maryanne Collins and her husband Donald of Westwood, George Sharpe and his wife Linda, Terri Sharpe, and Elizabeth Sharpe all of Waltham, his cherished grandson Steven Warchal of Norton, and his longtime friend Dennis Callahan of Maynard. In addition he is survived by many nieces & nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours in celebration of Arthur's Life in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel, 773 Moody Street, Waltham on Saturday Jan. 15th from 2 – 6 p.m. Services will conclude with Military Honors in recognition of Arthur's faithful and honorable service to our country.

In lieu of flowers please give someone a ride to a meeting or lend an ear to someone struggling with an addiction.
