Born Jan. 28, 1899, in Guilford Township, he was a son of the late William and Ida Vanderau Deardorff.
He was a member of Solomon's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grindstone Hill.
Other memberships include New Franklin Ruritan Club, where he was a charter member, and Junior Order of United American Mehanics of Marion.
A farmer most of his life, in later years he served 12 years as Guilford Township supervisor.
His wife, Kathryn Skelly Deardorff, died Dec. 19, 1961.
Surviving is a son, John K. of 1547 Hillcrest Drive; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and a sister.
Buiral will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
