Elsie Margie Evans, age 86 of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away May 24, 2009 at Ralston, Oklahoma. She was born March 6, 1923 to Clyde and Rissie (Dalyrimple) Carter in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. Elsie married Gilbert Evans April 16, 1939 at Wade, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death December 24, 1990. She was a homemaker and had lived in the Hominy Area for the last 53 years.

She is survived by two daughters- Wanda Maker and husband Bruce of Hominy, Lola Burwell and husband Dewey of Jones, Oklahoma; two sons- Wendell Evans and wife Paulette of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Jim Evans and wife Lanette of Hominy; 17 grandchildren- Doug, Angie, Wendell, Wendy, Terry, Mary, Chris, Chuck, Tony, Joe, Farrah, Jeff, Shelly, Cindy, Sondra, Khrista and Casey Joe; 32 great grandchildren and 1 great, great, grandchild. 1 sister- Zona Ford of Kansas, 3 brothers- Archie, Vernon and Raymond all of Hominy.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents and husband; 5 brothers- Robert, Lewis, Wayne, Emerson and Winfred; 1 sister- Noby; and 4 children- Chrystal, Wilma, Elene and Wesley.

Graveside services were Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the A.J. Powell Cemetery Pavilion with Wayne Brown officiating. Music Selections were- "Amazing Grace", "Rock of Ages" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain". Casket Bearers- Chris Maker, Joe Maker, Wendell (Tadpole) Evans, Jeff Evans, Doug Evans and Casey Burwell. Interment in the A.J. Powell Cemetery.
