ELSE SURFUS IS DEAD AT 59 YRS. FROM PNEUMONIA
Burial to be Made at Cedar Chapel

The death of Else Surfus, a resident of Keyser township, four and a half miles northwest of Garrett, took place at 11 o'clock Friday night at the Dr. J. A. Sanders hospital, Auburn. Bronchial pneumonia, following influenza and a fall last Monday, resulted in his death.

He lay for some time until discovered by his grandson, Wayne Grogg, and a neighbor boy, Donald Eldridge.

Mr. Surfus was born in Perry township, Allen county, on December 29, 1878, and had been a resident of DeKalb county seventeen years. He lived in Garrett for eighteen months.

He was united in marriage with Miss Hattie Klinger of Noble county. on August 19, 1900. To this union were born three daughters, Mrs. Loyal Grogg and Mrs. Arthur Wildeson of Buller township and Miss Katheryn Surfus at home. Two brothers, Clarence and John Surfus, reside in Butler township.

The funeral will be held Monday afternoon. At 1 o'clock DST the Rev. L. E. Clayton of Spencerville, pastor of Cedar Chapel, will conduct a service at the residence and at 2 o'clock at Cedar Chapel. Burial will be made in the cemetery at Cedar Chapel.
