Ida Marie Garriott, age 96, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away at Fulton Manor Care Center on Thursday, May 13, 2010.
She was born May 20, 1913, in Portland, Missouri, the daughter of the late LeeRoy and Anna L. (Gruber) Polacek. On February 19, 1931, she was united in marriage to William R. "Dutch" Garriott. He preceeded her in death on February 9, 1998.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by nine sons, Edward G. Garriott (Maxine), William Leroy Garriott (Tillie), Clyde D. Garriott, Donald W. Garriott, (Dean), Lawrence Dale Garriott, (Hazel), Vernon D. Garriott (Margaret), Gary L. Garriott (Jerrie), Charles R. Garriott (Linda) and Randy G. Garriott; two daughters, Juanita Case (Ralph) and Shirley Spyers; thirty-five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildre; one sister, Dorothy Mae Starkey; numerous neices and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband of sixty-seven years, Dutch; one grandson, Roger Spyers; one great-granddaughter, Sheryl Lynn McDonal;, five brothers, Royal Edward "Pete" Polacek, Clarence Federic Polacek. Charley Polacek, August Francis Polacek and Omar Louis Polacek, two sisters, Lillie Etta Goodman and Minnie Pearl Payne.
Ida was a loving wife and mother. She was Babtised at Ebenezer Babtist Church. She had worked for the Samuel Shoe Factory. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, cooking, going to the casino and spending time with her family.
Funeral services at 2:00pm, Monday,at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Interment at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Fulton Manor Care Center.
