Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, November 3, 1983: "Mrs. Elizabeth Borland Tripp, 78, of Market Street Leesville died Sunday in her home following an 11-month illness. She was born January 14, 1905 in New Hagerstown, a daughter of the late Frank Morrison and Pearl Beatrice (Price) Forbes and was a life resident of the area. She had been employed for 40 years as a clerk in the dry goods department of the former W. B. Penn store in Bowerston. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bowerston and Orange Chapter, Order of Eastern Star of which she was a past worthy matron. Her husband, Brice J. Tripp, died February 11, 1971. Survivors include a son, John E. Borland of Jersey City, New Jersey, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother. Funeral services were held this Wednesday in the Leesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Hoff officiating. Burial was in Leesville cemetery. The R. K. Linsey Funeral Home in charge."
