Funeral services for Thermon Holstead, age 79, of Choudrant will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Rev. Hulen Warren and Rev. Jimmy Pyles. A private family graveside will follow the service at Douglas Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.

Mr. Holstead was born December 29, 1931 and passed away January 12, 2011.

Mr. Holstead was a long time member of Grace United Methodist Church where he held numerous positions. He was the owner and founder of Holstead's Inc. and co/owner of the former Ruston Appliance Center. He was a former Police Juror of Lincoln Parish, served as President of The Louisiana State Police Jury, and a former director of Community Trust Bank. Mr. Holstead was an active outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; Melvin and Lucille Holstead of Choudrant, LA; siblings: Betty Harrison and husband Dean, Bobby Jack Holstead and Margie Fern Holstead.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Anne Aulds Holstead of Choudrant. LA; daughters: Gail Coltharp and husband Jack of Texarkana, TX, Becky Rounsaville husband Robbie of Choudrant, LA and Susan Colbert and husband Chris of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren: TJ Coltharp and wife Wendy, Katie Coltharp, Ethan Colbert, Sarah Colbert, Todd Coltharp and Jay Coltharp; sister: Juanita Posey and husband Gene of Choudrant, LA; sisters-in- law: Linda Edwards and husband Eddie of Rose Hill KS, and Fran Dugdale and husband Curtis of Choudrant, LA. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Clint Trant, Robert Wyles, Tommy Dugdale, Duane Dugdale, Ronnie Posey, Jeff Posey, Cody Posey, Brad Scoggins and Benjamin Scoggins.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Farmer, Jack Holder, and the Grace Workers for Christ Sunday School Class.

Planned memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.

The Holstead family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the doctors and staff in the ICU Unit at Northern Louisiana Medical Center.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 14, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall at Grace United Methodist Church in Ruston.
