Horace Porter Gowen, an old resident of this place, passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Eugene Gerry, yesterday morning after a very short illness. He had suffered from heart trouble for a long time, and for the past few weeks it had troubled him more than usual. He was suddenly ill Wednesday and died.
He had always lived here and conducted a farm when not employed in the mills.
