I found a small kitten (about 6-8 weeks old) under a car in the parking lot where I formerly worked. Although showing no signs of external injuries she definitely had something wrong so I brought her home with me. In order for her to sleep and relax that night I had to lie on the floor holding her up in a sitting position. First thing next morning we were off to the vet but she still had no name so since we had Hurricane Bonnie aiming for us (it later turned & missed us) I decided to call her Bonnie since it looked as though the storm had blown her in. It was discovered that Bonnie had a diaphragmatic hernia and unless she had surgery she wouldn't survive for long. The doctor told me, days after the surgery, that he was afraid she wouldn't make it because of her size but that, "Bonnie has a strong will and also animals know when someone loves them and she DEFINITELY has that!!"

Bonnie was the boss of the household and happy being the big, bossy sister to her brother Clyde (who came along 10 months after big sister). She was Momma's Jealous Girl. When Momma was home Bonnie was right there with her. When Momma laid down on the bed, Bonnie was right there beside her. She loved to play as long as little brother Clyde wasn't around, then she wouldn't play as she wanted him to think she was much too mature for that.

Around her birthday in 2010, it was determined that she had spots on her lungs. Nothing could be done but to make her as comfortable and happy as I could. She left this world on the evening of January 13, 2011 and I think when she left she took a big piece of her mom's heart. She was my beautiful Bonnie Belle and I miss her terribly every day.
