Joyce Baugher Berry of Elkton went to be with the Lord and her loved ones on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

Mrs. Berry was born in Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late Myrtle Comer Baugher. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Berry; her second husband, Bobby Lee Shifflett; and three brothers, Weaver Baugher, Lewis Baugher and Ishmal Baugher.

She had previously worked at Sleepwear Inc. in Elkton and Metro Pants Factory in Harrisonburg. Joyce enjoyed cooking, yard sales and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Candi Davis of Elkton, and Terri Bowman and husband, Chris, of Elkton; one sister, Virginia Workman of Elkton; one granddaughter, Dana Davis; two grandsons, J.W. Gordon and wife, Katrina, and Jordan Bowman; two great-granddaughters, Brynn E. and Brielle E. Gordon; sister-in-law, Ethel Berry; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton with the Rev. Stephen Creech and the Rev. Carter Dean officiating. Burial was private at the Baugher Family Cemetery in the Sandy Bottom area of Elkton.
