Mrs. Price went to meet the Lord on Jan. 12, 2011.
She was born Aug. 12, 1934 in Long Lake in Navarro County to the late Claude Wilson and Bertie Paddy Jarrard. She was raised in Dewitt, Ark., but has resided in Athens most of her adult life.
Mary Helen formerly worked as a seamstress for Vassarette of Munsingwear, Inc. for 13 years. She, along with her husband, were teachers for Angel Keepers Preschool at Eastern Hills Church of Christ. For several years she served as a Girl Scout Leader. She was a charter member of Central Church of Christ.
Mary Helen loved the Lord, and was faithful to read and study her Bible, starting each day with a study period before breakfast.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, David C. Price, Athens; son David Britt Price and wife Brenda, Athens; daughter Gale Price, Athens; grandchildren David Scott Price, Casey Brandon Price, and last but not least, Emily Loper, that Mary Helen raised and loved as her own granddaughter. She was known as grandmaw by at least 10 other children.
Pallbearers will be Paul Ledbetter, Pat Tolbert, Tad Westmoreland, Jay Warner, Tim Norman, Wayne Holcomb.
Honorary pallbearers are Dale Eckeberger, Homer Thiede, Duke Frisbie, John Hopper, Douglas Tanner, and Jack Bateman.
