Otto Paimin Nelson, the son of Nels and Hannah Nelson, was born December 12, 1890 at Ask Skone, Sweden. When he was twelve years old , the family came to America, settling near Wausa, where they farmed and Otto attended school. On April 12, 1916 he married Mabel Bloomquist, daughter of Charles Peter and Ellen Bloomquist. Mabel was born March 2, 1893 near Wausa. She was a rural school teacher.
The first three years of their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson lived at Flasher, North Dakota after which they moved back to Nebraska, farming between Wausa and Bloomfield until 1952 when they retired and moved into Bloomfield.
They had three children: Duane and his wife Mildred (Koertje) live in Omaha. Jean and her husband H.E. Jacobus, live in Long Beach, CA, Valarie and her husband, Dale Frevert, live in Bloomfield.
