Carrie Manley Alexander, 97, of Mount Ida, died December 28, 2010 at the Pines Nursing Home in Hot Springs.

She was born October 20, 1913 at Rocky, Ark., the daughter of Green B. "Ryan" Manley and Essie Elizabeth Bissell Manley.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mount Ida. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling and having all her family together on the holidays.

She married George Henry Shaw on June 6, 1934 in Montgomery Co., Ark. They were the parents of three children: Eugene, Helen, and Dortha. Henry died in 1936 and Carrie next married James Abraham "Jim" McKay on June 23, 1937 in Montgomery Co., Ark. They were the parents of one daughter and two sons. She later married Oliver Morris Alexander on May 4, 1956 in Montgomery County, Ark. They had no children together.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husbands, all of Montgomery County; two brothers, Dave Manley and Ottis Manley; three sisters, Octavia Summit, Lillie Counts, Violet Foster; one son, Eugene D. Shaw; and grandsons, Matt Alva Morrison and Cam Rome.

She is survived by four daughters and one son; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren, seventeen g-g-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
