Wm. F. Campbell, former Caddo county commissioner, died Sunday, April 21 and his brother, Dr. S.T. Campbell, well known county physician and world War veteran, died Saturday, April 27. Both men were former residents of this place. W.F. lived on his farm eight miles south of town from the time of the opening until 1914 and Dr. Campbell was one of Carnegie's early day doctors.
In 1922 W.F. Campbell was elected county commissioner and was reelected in 1924. He had been in ill health for more than a year previous to his death. Funeral services were held Tuesday.
Dr. Campbell saw active service in three major operations in the late war. He remained in the army until 1921 and then took up work in the Indian department in Arizonia. Former service men, members of the American Legion acted as pall bearers and formed a firing squad at the funeral services which were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Anadarko and interment was made there.
