Oregon City resident Jerald Edwin Bevens died on April 14, 2008, at age 67. The cause of death was kidney disease.
He was born on June 23, 1940, in Portland, graduated from Wilson High School and Oregon Tech. Institute and was a leader for the Boy Scouts for many years.
He was a volunteer for Hope Food Project and did the worship planning, lighting and camera work for the church. He was the co-owner of Columbia Battery for 17 years and also worked at Screen Graphics and Tektronix.
He is survived by: wife, Bonnie Sager Bevens; daughter, Holly Griffith; sons, Bryan and Zon Bevens; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on April 18, 2008, at the Oregon City Methodist Church.
