Death of Mrs. R. R. Rose

On April 23, 1908, death claimed as its own the body of Mrs. Lula Rose. For over three months Mrs. Rose's suffering was terrible to witness, but she had every care and attention that a good husband, mother, sisters and friends could think of. As a last resort she was carried on her cot to the Sanitarium at Ardmore but without avail; one the third day her husband and mother brought back a corpse. Burial followed at the new cemetery, north of town, which will be called Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Rose was born in Izard County, Arkansas, July 21, 1875. There she grew to womanhood and in 1892 she was married to R. R. Rose. Five children were given them - all living - the youngest a sweet babe three months old.

Mrs. Rose's mother and father were with her during most of her long illness. Her mother and three sisters were with her two weeks prior to her death.

Her husband, five children, mother, father, three sisters, two brothers and a host of friends and neighbors live to mourn their loss in her death.

Mrs. Rose was a member of the Christian church eighteen years and has lived a conscientious christian life. She was energetic, patient and cheerful in all her daily life - a good wife, a good mother and a good neighbor.
