On May 27, 1892 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Strate of Palmyra and they began housekeeping in their present home, which is about one mile from his birthplace.
To this union seven children were born, two sons, Alva and Henry who died in infancy. The five children left to suffer their loss, with the devoted wife are Stephen Franklin, Ida wife of Carl Hall, William Horace, Clara, wife of Wm. G. Best and Luthella, wife of LeRoy Smith.
Several years ago Mr. Bivin moved his family to Texas where they remained for three and one-half years for the benefit of his health. Since returning to this state, he had enjoyed good health until a few months ago when it became known his condition was critical. Everything was done for him that loving hands and medical science though best but to no avail. Mr. Bivin was a man of sterling character and upheld the principals of honest and integrity. He was a great lover of home and family and the love an respect by his family and friends.
