John Reimers Dies at Forsyth
Forsyth--John W. Reimers, 96, of Forsyth father of Henry W. Reimers of 3112 McBride St., Billings, died in a Forsyth hospital Wednesday evening.
Mr. Reimers was born in 1868 in Denmark, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Reimers. He came to the United States as a small child with his parents and they settled in Boone, Iowa. He moved to Chicago, Illinois, as a young man and worked as a collector for Deering Binder Co.
He married Metha Holm in 1897 in Chicago. Mr. Reimers operated a real estate business in Chicago.
They moved to Medicine Lake in 1907 where he operated a wheat farm until 1938 when he retired and moved to Billings. Mrs. Reimers died in 1947.
He entered the Forsythe hospital in 1958 and was a patient there until his death.
He is survived by two sons, Harry W. and Aage Reimers of Kansas City; four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Danielsen of 923 N. 32nd St., Mrs. Marie Stromberg and Mrs. Emil Anderson, both of Medicine Lake, and Mrs. Thomas Sigle of LaPort, Ind.; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Faulkerson Funeral Home in Plentywood at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Dagmar Cemetery, east of Plentywood.
