He was born in Doylestown, a son of the late Frederick J. and Frances Swift Jenks. He was married to Mary Sanford Jenks for 44 years on August 6th.
Raymond was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church of Ephrata, the Cocalico Sportsman's Club, and the Cushion Peak Sportsman's Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a NASCAR fan. In his earlier years, he was a grand champion roller skater.
He was employed by New Holland Block, a division of Martin Limestone of New Holland, where he was a dispatcher and customer service rep.
Surviving besides his wife are his daughters, Darlene L. Wawrzyniak of Bailey, NC, Patricia A., wife of Robert Beck of Ephrata, Tammy S., wife of Dave Andrew of Bowmansville, and Tina M. Jenks of New Holland, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jon Wawrzyniak, sisters, Frances Shimp and Virginia Wade, and brothers, Richard Jenks Jr. and James Jenks.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, January 13th, at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., 533 Walnut St., Denver.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 14th, at 10 A.M. with Pastor Stephen Hollinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown.
