George E. Baker, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away January 8, 2011. He was born July 31, 1943 in Indianapolis to the late Robert and Elta Lashbrook Baker. George was a Sergeant in the US Army for 20 years, retiring in 1985. He then owned and operated Baker's Secret, an antique shop for 15 years, retiring in 2000. George attended St. Johns Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held Friday, January 14, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 6630 Southeastern Ave. George is survived by his wife, Stephanie Baker; daughter, Dana Lynn Dowling; son, Markus (Amelia) Baker; brother, Robert Baker; grandchildren, Nathaniel Williams, Ethan Dowling, Trinity Baker, Ariel Dowling and Seth Dowling, and great-granddaughter, Kelcey Williams. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Baker. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Lutheran School, 6630 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46203. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel.
