OBITUARY

Mrs Jacob Wardenaar died on Saturday morning, February 28th after a protracted illness which suddenly aggravated during her last days. (diabetes)

Johanna Elizabeth Dohé was born in the city of Amsterdam, The Netherlands on January 19, 1878.

September 26, 1907 she was united in marriage to Jacob Wardenaar (Sr). In 1913 they immigrated to this country and settled in the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Of their four sons, the two older ones were born in The Netherlands Jake, Jr and John and the younger two, Henry and Albert were born in Grand Rapids.

In 1921 they left for the Pacific Northwest and settled in Oak Harbor, Washington, where they have lived ever since, and where many have learned to love and respect them.

While still a school girl Mrs Wardenaar learned to love the Lord Jesus Christ, whom she, while still a young woman, confessed as her Savior. She was ever active in the Lord's work, especially in Sunday School and Ladies Missionary society.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband Jake Wardenaar Sr and four sons, Jake, John, Henry and Albert, all of Oak Harbor, and one sister, Johanna VanHeest. A large number of friends extend their heart-felt sympathy.
