DeWitt Beightel Dies Suddenly At His Home--
DeWitt C. Beightel died very suddenly last evening at 6 o'clock at his home, 1303 Hemlock avenue. He had just completed his evening meal when he was stricken with a heart attack and expired. He had been in failing health since May 31 when he suffered a severe and sudden illness.
Mr. Beightel, who had been one of the custodians at the courthouse for the past ten years, was born in Nachusa, Jan 18, 1877. In 1905 he was united in marriage to Miss Evangeline Seybert. To this union one son, Ellsworth C. Beightel was born, who with the widow survives. Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Sybella Bates and Mrs. Ethel Brookner of Dixon and Mrs. C. O. Davis of DeKalb. His parents and four sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Preston Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Lloyd W. Waller, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, officiating and internment will be in the Oakwood. The body was taken to teh family residence this afternoon to remain until the hour of the funeral on Thursday.
