Joe Ward, 55 of Athens, well known to many in this city, met death on June 25th (1928) in West Athens, when the well, in which he was working caved in upon him. The cave-in occurred at 9:30 and although men worked frantically, it was noon before the body was recovered. He is survived by his wife and their step-daughter, Mrs. John (Emma) Stacy of Trinidad.
