Don Wynne was elected Boy Governor of Illinois and won an appointment to the Naval Academy. Dad was in an accelerated program at the Academy that graduated a year early in '46 in order to ship out to war. He served both in WWII and the Korean War.
He married his lifetime soulmate Helen Johnston Harding in 1953. Four little Wynnes followed, myself- Christine, Donald M. Jr, Patrick and Elaine.
Don was a Senior Systems analyst for contractors GE, APL, & EG&G working on programs such as the likes of the Polaris Missle in Mass. and the Lunar Lem for the Apollo missions.
Dad retired approximately 9 years before we lost him due to complications of a stroke in '02. We were lucky that his nine grandchildren and one great-grand all got to know "Pop Pops" or "Poppie" and had come to know his symphonic whistling abilities, his love of gardening, the constellations of the stars and books and more books. God Bless you Dad - we all Miss you terribly!
