BESSIE NELL KINSEY

CRANE, TEXAS: Bessie Nell Kinsey, 96 of Odessa, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Medical Center Hospital in Odessa from Cardiac Heart Failure.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Crane with Reverend Mike Johnson and Chance Endsley officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Pilgrim Cemetery in Elkhart, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.

Bessie was born on December 6, 1914 in Fisher County, Texas to Clayton and Gaily Parker Davis. She was a homemaker and had lived in Monahans, Coleman, the Crane Gulf Sand Hills Camp, and in Odessa. Bessie was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Caprock Baptist Church. While living in Monahans, she taught Sunday School for many years.

Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Kinsey in 1996 whom she
married; March 15, 1934 Anderson County, Texas.; her parents; Clayton and Gaily Davis; three brothers, Delmer, Harold, and Jack Davis; and two grandsons, Todd and Jimmy Biles.

Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Kinsey Gilstrap and her husband Gil of Odessa, and Teena Kinsey Nations and her husband Bill of Norman, OK; three grandchildren, Joe Biles of Elk City, OK, Tana Samford and her husband Garry of Bastrop, TX, Tara Nations Jaramillo and her husband Rudy of Phoenix, AZ; nine great-grandchildren, Barby Shahan and her husband Russell, Sherrie Biles, and Amanda Samford Darby, all of Odessa, William Biles of Oklahoma City, OK, John Biles of Illinois, Chance Endsley and his wife Jennifer of San Marcos, TX, Rilee Henson and his wife Joleen of North Carolina, Jo Lynn Jorgensen of North Pole, Alaska, and Andres Jaramillo of Phoenix, AZ; 13 great-great grandchildren; and one brother, J.C. "Jake" Davis of Odessa.
