Mrs. Lou Gurnsey, 83, died Friday night at 7 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lankford Brock, in Chillicothie, with whom she had made here home the last three years.
Mrs. Gurnsey had resided in Athens all of her life before going to Chillicothe. She was the widow of Frank Gurnsey, who died in 1916.
Surviving are one son, Clarence Gurnsey of Dallas; one daughter, Mrs. Brock; three granddaughters, Mrs. Frank Stinnett and Mrs. Wrather Johnson of Athens, and Mrs. Phillip Crevney, Pittsburg, Pa.; two grandsons, C.F. Gurnsey and Arnold Gurnsey of Athens, and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Allie Gurnsey of Athens.
Funeral services were held on Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the Carroll and Lehr Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. J.B. Marlow, pastor of the West Athens Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the City Cemetery.
