STALEY, Kathryn Hanger 88, passed away Saturday morning at the Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in Middletown, October 30, 1922, the daughter of Ernest and Lillian Hanger. Mrs. Staley was a Registered Nurse, retired from the Middletown Hospital. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II; and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Gratis Homemakers, Greenbush Ladies Aid, the Retired nurses Association, the Preble County Historical Society, and was a 4H Director.

Her husband, George Staley, Jr., preceded her in death in 2007. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Hanger, and a brother, George W. Hanger. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Staley of Cincinnati; her son, George C. Staley III (Sue) of Moline IL; a stepgranddaughter, Jennifer Johnson; a sister, Miriam H. Jenkins of Middletown; a brother, Charles Hanger of Springboro; 3 nephews, Michael, David and Lee Jenkins; a niece, Kim Hanger Simpson; 5 grandnephews, Branden Haddix, Evan Jenkins, Alex Jenkins, Peter Jenkins and Nicholas Simpson; and a grandniece, Whitney Simpson.

The family will receive friends at the First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held, officiated by the Rev. Tim Doty. Burial will be in Fairmound Cemetery, West Elkton, following a luncheon at the church. The family suggests memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Avenue, Middletown OH 45044.
