CHICO (Butte Co.), July 30. – Nicholas Biever, 60, pump operator at the Parrott-Phelan ranch near here for the last ten years, succumbed to a heart attack at 6:30 A.M. yesterday as he prepared to start work.
Biever attempted to crank a Diesel pump motor. He complained of the motor being hard to start and then collapsed.
Biever came to Chico from La Grande, Ore. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Kate Biever of Chico. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Woodmen of the World.
