Henry Erastus Andersen, age 86, passed away Friday, July 23, 1999 in Bountiful.
He was born August 11, 1912 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Erastus Michael and Anina Petersen Andersen. He married Genevieve Hansen on June 19, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Henry served as bishop of the Sugar House Ward and Richards Second Ward and was president of the Sugar House Stake. With his sweetheart, he served a mission from 1979 - 1980 in the Arizona Mesa Visitors' Center and he served in the Salt Lake Temple for many years. He was employed by Boise Cascade.
Survived by children, JoAnn Ludwig (Jay), Carolyn Austin (John), Ken Andersen (June), Allan Andersen (Shirlee); 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Arnold Andersen (Darlene) and sister, Esther Nelson. He is preceded in death by a grandson, James Alan; a sister, Luella; and his wife, who died August 10, 1989. Although he is missed by his family, we rejoice in the reuniting with his sweetheart after these 10 years.
He was a kind, considerate person who loved and served people and was loved by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his positive attitude and his white shirt and tie.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at 12 noon at the Bountiful 43rd Ward Chapel, 100 West 1000 North. Friends may call Monday, evening from 7-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Tuesday from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment in the Elysian Burial Gardens.
