Ms. Harley died Friday, January 7, 2011. Born in Florence, SC, she was a daughter of the late Theo Rhett and Pearl White Seabrook. She was a member of Sharon Road Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC. Lillian attended Coker College and graduated with a BA degree from Winthrop College for Women. She worked in Washington, DC for the FBI as an assistant clerk typist in the Department of Justice. She moved to Charlotte, NC and worked for DuPont for 28 years as a senior secretary. She loved to travel after her retirement and also loved to write short stories.
Surviving are her first cousins, Martha White (Howard) Gardner of St. Augustine, FL, Elizabeth White Bizzell of Hartsville, SC, Patricia White and Bobby Jolly of Marion, SC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Theodore Rhett "Ted" Harley, who was killed in the Second World War at the battle on New Georgia Island.
