Edward E. Edwards, 68, formerly of Schnecksville, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, in the home of his nephew, Henry Heidecker, and wife, Lisa, Mohrsville.
Born in Bethlehem, on June 23, 1942, he was a son of the late Stanley E. Sr. and Catherine E. (Seip) Edwards.
Edward was employed as a service station manager for Lehigh Gas Convenience Store, Schnecksville, for the last 18 years. Prior to that, he worked for Lehigh Fuel and Swan Oil Company.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a peacetime era.
In addition to his nephew, Edward is survived by his brother, Stanley E. Edwards Jr., Bethlehem; nieces: Stacey Sabol, Schnecksville; Stephanie Ardle, Allentown; and Sheryl L. Kalman, Palmerton; four great-nephews; and three great-nieces.
He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy E. Heidecker, and a companion, Jane A. Jeffries.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, at Bethlehem Memorial Park, 1851 Linden St., Bethlehem, with the Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Biszek officiating.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.
