Mary Roberson "Maggie" Hedgepeth, age 85, a resident of 1050 Wendover Circle, and a former resident of 224 Cherry St. in Henderson, died Tuesday at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem. She was a native of Vance Co. and was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Artelia Stanton Roberson. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and was a former employee of the former Village Gate Clothing Store in Henderson.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church by the Rev. John Simons. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Hedgepeth, of the home; one daughter, Susan M. White, of Winston-Salem; one brother, the Rev. Lemuel Gibbons Roberson, of Charleston, S. C.; one sister, Gilda Gray R. Leonard, of Henderson; four grandchildren; and five great grand-children.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the Parrish Hall of St. John's Episcopal Church.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Charles Sellars, Brian Sellars, Chris Boss, Sam Gray, Monte White, Robert Strange, Russell Haithcock, and Billy Davidson.
