Mauritz Strid, 47, 2212 61st St., Everett, died in a veterans hospital in Seattle Saturday afternoon after a lingerig illness. He was born in Esperance Aug. 1, 1912. Mr. Strid formerly was employed by Simpson Paper Co. he was a World War II veteran of the Navy's Seabees. He was a member of Everett Eagles.

He is survived by his widow, Genevieve, and a daughter, Diane, at the family home; his father, Oscar Strid, Arington, and his mother, Mrs. Mary Strid, Everett: three brothers, Harry Strid, Arlington; Victor Strid, Granite Falls, and Hugo Strid, Los Angeles, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Rudd, Spokane, and Gladys Stevens, Altadens, Calif.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday in Pinehurst Gospel Tabernacle. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Everett.
