Mrs. Jane Shivers Claimed by Death

Impressive funeral services for Mrs. Janie Carden Shivers, 84 years of age, were conducted from the home in Pike county this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. John W. Rawls and Rev. C.B. Bullard officiated.

Burial was in the Shivers Family cemetery, in Pike county, with Haisten Brothers in charge. Mrs. Shivers, widow of Mr. P.C. Shivers, died at her home in Pike county Sunday morning, following a serious illness of three weeks. She had been in declining health for a number of years. She was a lifelong resident of Pike county.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. J.E. Callahan, of Griffin, and Mrs. J.D. Wilder, of Hampton; four sons, C.F. Shivers, of Milner, Joe and E.A. Shivers, of Griffin, and J.G. Shivers, of Atlanta; two brothers, Gabe Carden and Dock Carden, of Milner; two sisters, Mrs. C.R. Cox, of Union, Miss., and Mrs. S.E. Johnson, of Milner; 44 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
