BAXTER – Funeral services for Wilma Sewell Austin, 73, of Baxter will be held Wednesday, August 2, at
2 p.m. in the Baxter Chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.Mrs. Austin died Monday, July 31, 1995, in Cookeville General Hospital.
She was born July 27, 1922, to the late William Thomas (W.T.) and Winnie Maxwell Sewell in Baxter.
Mrs. Austin was a homemaker, a member of the Baxter United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, the Baxter Civitan Club, and the Baxter Square-Square Dancers.
Her family includes three sons, Jim Ed and Tom S. Austin, both of Baxter, and Dale T. Austin of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; one sister, Sue Baldwin of Winchester; six grandchildren, Cris Edward Austin, Tom Sewell Austin II, Amanda Jo and Kimberly Danielle Austin, Johnnie Robert Austin, and Brandee Dale Austin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Austin.
Active pallbearers include Cris Austin, Willard Johnson, Harold Bartlett, Robert Halfacre, Dan Maxwell, Joe Ed Morre, Bill Sewell, and Ralph Gentry. Bill and Earl Wayne Flynee, Danny Bush, Frank Bain, Tom Choate, and Darryl Maddux will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. today, August 1, at the funeral home.
Dr. Richard Diemer and Rev. Ernest Robertson will officiate at the services.
