BAXTER – Funeral services for Ernest Fred Austin, 71, of Baxter will be held Friday, October 7, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home with burial in the Odd Felows Cemetery.
Mr. Austin died Tuesday (October 4, 1998) at his home following an extended illness.
He was the son of the late Franklin Pierce and Anna (Judd) Austin.
A native of Putnam County, Mr. Austin was a retired produce dealer and a member of Baxter United Methodist Church.
His family includes his wife, Susan Young Austin, two daughters, Ernestine Allen and Brenda Waller, both of Baxter; one son, Steve Austin of Fayetteville; two sisters, Edna McReynolds and Marie Swallows, both of Baxter; four grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
