Richard C. Mangum, 69, of Nampa, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Boise VA Medical Center. Arrangements are pending under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel.

Richard C. Mangum, 69, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Veterans' Hospital.

Interment Services will be on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 2pm at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, ID 83714.
Memorial Services will conclude at Greenhurst LDS Church, 3904 E. Greenhurst Rd. Nampa, ID 83686 at 3pm.

Richard was born to Marion Dewain and Reva Mangum on September 11, 1941 in Wendell, ID. He served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1965. Richard had various occupations during his life. He drove school bus for the Kuna School District, until the time that he and Sharon started their business, R & S Emissions. Richard operated one of the vans until the time his health started to decline and as an added bonus he was ready to retire. Richard enjoyed camping, riding his 4-wheeler, snowmobiling with his son and grandson, bowling and playing horseshoes. He loved his black lab ‘Shorty', who was his buddy. Where ever he went, Shorty was with him. Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Nampa. Four children from a previous marriage: Pamela (Scott) Lottman of Boise, Vicki (Chris) Rodgers of Kuna, Peggy (Steve) Wallace of Post Falls and Richard B. (Tracie) Mangum of Nampa. And four step-children; Christina (Cory) Gaylor of Sierra Vista, AZ, Charlie Glasgow of Kuna, Collene (James) Kroenke of Boise, Connie Glasgow of Boise. Two brothers; Jack Mangum of Burley and Gary Mangum of Bartlett, TN., and two sisters; Natasha Horn of Reno, NV and Donna Larsen of Rupert. Seven grandchildren, two great grand-daughters and three step-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Marion Dewain and Reva Mangum; his siblings: Steven, Peggy, LaVond, Ronald, Timothy, Donald, and Duard Mangum, Verla Mershon and his son Jerry Mangum.
