He was the son of Winford & Minnie Copeland Hargis.Philip was a lifelong resident of the Dogwood community in Douglas
County,Mo.,where he was a farmer.He was a Christian & attended Dogwood Churchof the Nazarene since 1947 & was an usher since 1954.On Oct.4,1954 in Holyoak,Colo.he married Alverta G.Harvey.He was preceded in death by his parents,his wife,Alverta,two daughters,Veva Berry & Pansy
Nichols;one son Nathan Nichols.He is survived by two
daughters & their spouses,Violet & husband,Lyle,of North
Platte,Neb.& Joyce& husband Junior,of Fordland,Mo.;one son,John & wife,Diana,Goodland,Kan.;21 grandchildren;69 great-grandchildren;63 great-great-grandchildren;one
brother,Raymond,of Chadwick,Mo.;two sisters,Viola,of Seymour,Mo.& Elizabeth,of Fordland,Mo.;special friends
Archie & Barbara Jennings;& a host of relatives & friends.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.Sarurday,
Nov.27,2004,in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home,Ava,Mo.
with the Revs.Jerry Inman,L.V.Holmes,Bob Huskey & Michael
Peebles officiating.Interment will follow in the Union Chapel Cemetery off Z Highway.Visitation will be from 6-8
p.m.Friday in the funeral home.Friends may call at their convenience.
