Jerry Mack Tipton

Funeral services for Jerry Mack Tipton, 62, of New Summerfield were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug 14, in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with the Rev. G.C. Folmar officiating. Burial was held at the McDonald Cemetery in New Summerfield under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Jacksonville.

Mr. Tipton died Tuesday, Aug. 10, in Tyler. He was born March 25, 1942 in New Summerfield.

Mr. Tipton was a self employed flooring installer. He was a member of the New Summerfield Church of Christ and served in the U.S Air Force.

Mr. Tipton was preceded in death by parents, Hollis and Opal Tipton; brothers, Harold Tipton, Ralph Tipton and Eugene Tipton; and a sister, Dorothy Birdwell.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Tipton of New Summerfield; a son, Hollis Tipton of Frankston; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Steve Fisher, and Sandra and Roger Perry, all of Frankston; sisters, Betty Ivy and Louise Roper, both of New Summerfield; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Roger Davis, Dennis Ivy, Marcus Roper, Eddie Birdwell, Waylon Tipton and Alvin Limbaugh.

Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Hasty, Brian Fisher, Roger Nolen and Bruce Ivy.
