Former Brook Woman Dead

Mrs. Blanche Adduddell, formerly Miss Blanche Courtright, of this place, died at her home in Philadelphia, Penn., last Saturday, May 1st. Death was caused by complications following flu. The body is being brought here for burial and is expected tomorrow, but as it is indefinite no arrangements have been made as yet, though it is thought funeral services will probably be held at the Nason Turner residence on Friday afternoon.

Mrs. Adduddell's last visit to Brook was when she came for her mother's, Mrs. Cara Courtright's funeral last winter. At that time she stayed several days with her sister, Mrs. Nason Turner.

Obituary of Mrs. John Adduddell

Blanche Courtright, daughter of Almond and Clara Courtright, was born at Monticello, Indiana March 2, 1896, and passed away April 29, 1933, at her home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the age of 37 years, 1 month, and 27 days.

Blanche moved to Brook, Indiana with her parents at an early age, where she made her home for several years. She was a student of the Brook schools and socially active in the junior societies. In later years she entered nurses training at the Chicago General Hospital, where she mastered her profession, which she executed with much comment.

On August 24, 1930, she was united in marriage with John Adduddell, of Philadelphia where they made their home until her death. The deceased leaves to mourn her goodly husband, John Adduddell; two sisters, Mrs. Nason Turner, of Brook and Mrs. George Berringer, of Chicago, Ill.; and one brother, Loren C. Courtright, of Hammond, Indiana, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Adduddell's material life came to an end after a short illness, Saturday at 8:15, the body being brought home and laid beside her father and mother in the family burial ground at Remington, Indiana, there to rest in peace beside hear [her] loved ones until the Resurrection Day, when they will all be reunited in everlasting joy.

Short funeral services were conducted at the home of Mrs. Nason Turner, of Brook, Thursday afternoon at 4:15, Rev. B. E. Chambers officiating.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. Roscoe Foster, Miss Francis Dewhirst, of Flora, Ill., Miss Vera Witcher, of South Bend, Mr. and Mrs. J. Wagner of Rensselaer, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Courtright, of Remington, Mr. and Mrs. Alving Harris, of Donovan, Ill., and Mrs. L. Markley and son of Iroquois, Ill.
