OBITUARY
Mrs. M. J. Quigley was born Sept. 19, 1857, at Veva, Indiana, and came with her parents to Floris, Davis county, Iowa, when only nine months old. She was married to W. C. Quigley December 19, 1877, and was the mother of six children. She passed from life March 6, 1913, at the age of fifty-five years, five months and fifteen days. Her death occurred at the Ottumwa hospital where she underwent an operation a second time for gall stones and owing to general weakness was unable to survive the ordeal.
The remains were brought to Albia and the funeral was conducted from her late home on Washington avenue west, at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, March 8th, Rev. J. P. White officiating.
Beautiful floral tributes were laid upon the casket and sympathizing friends followed the remains to their last resting place in Oak View cemetery. Her life was full of good deeds and her memory will be cherished for her devotion to her loved ones and the many rugged paths she has led them over in their advancement from childhood to mature lives. May her ashes rest in peace.
